Sylvie Demers is a professional artist who lives in the Greater Montreal, Canada. She is a versatile artist who is mostly passionate about color. Her world is light and full of happy surprises. She has always been mesmerized by color. While she was living in the Greater Montreal area of Canada, Sylvie illustrated several book covers for the Presses de l’Université du Québec. In 2011, she joined the COLOURlovers.com community and since then she has been designing pattern templates that are fresh and youthful. She has always felt the need to vary her subject matter she believes this variety keeps her prints, art and posters fresh and adds to their collectability. In 2012, she won “Become our New Artist”, the Gelaskins.com contest. Her works have been published as greeting cards, fine art prints, and posters.
Acrylic paints and watercolor help her to express her inner spontaneity and optimism. She enjoys exploring her creativity and learning new techniques. Since achieving her ambition to become an artist, her paintings are now much sought after by discerning private collectors and galleries throughout the world. Sylvie says she has to paint. She has so many colors in her head, in so many forms. She is never totally satisfied and therefore needs to paint and paint again because that’s what makes her happy. She hopes that her paintings have the same effect on her viewers. She enjoys the effect of her paintings on others emotion and imagination. Sylvie uses watercolor in a non-traditional way mixing it with makers and pastel so as to create animated eclectic ambiances.
