Sharon Pitts Wall Art

Sharon Pitts was born in Chicago, Illinois. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Plastic and Graphic Arts. She graduated from The University of Illinois, Chicago and has also studied at Montclair State University, the Barnes Foundation and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Sharon is listed in “Who’s Who in American Art”.  She lives in the metropolitan New York area and is an avid traveler and reader and hosts watercolor workshops in Croatia, Italy and France. She has exhibited in many places including The Gallery at Berkshire Hathaway, Atrium Art Gallery, Morristown, Calvary Episcopal Church, Summit, Montclair Art Museum, George Segal Gallery, and Dupre Gallery, Montclair, to name just a few.

Painting is her language. With brush, paper and watercolor, she looks to see mystery in the literal. She cuts open a large navel orange, and before her appears sunburst segments with flicker of light coming alive with the color and water of the paint. Her art is in the collections of Widener University Museum of Art, Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Commission for CBS, Inc., Senior Care and Activities Center, Montclair, NJ, Colgate-Palmolive Corporation, Daiichi Sankyo Inc., Kallmann, Gennet, Robinson and Antin, Pfizer, Inc., and Due Process Stables Golf Course. When she paints, there is a continual discovery of the unknown and the new. Color combinations she has never considered and techniques, styles and creating effects which reveal themselves to her as she works.
