Chin H. Shin Wall Art

Chin H Shin graduated from Long Island University with a Master of Art Degree. He was a former member of Portrait Society of America, Oil Painters of America, and the American Society of Marine Artists. Currently, he’s a member of Portrait Society of America. He’s been painting for more than a decade as a professional oil painter. His subjects range from cityscapes, seascapes and landscapes to still-life and portraits. During the time he was in college, Shin accumulated deep knowledge and experience in watercolor oil and painting; furthermore he studied abstract painting in Long Island University for many years when he was studying for his Master’s degree. Shin’s painting involves a lot of conversation with his subject matter, and his initial inspiration comes from a deeper side of musical inspiration, memory, and optimism.

He loves seascape- and seascapes-inspired subject matter for his artwork, but basically, the artist thinks any ordinary subject matter surrounding the human life could be a great subject. He bases his painting on realism, but he says that there is limitless possibility of variations. That’s why whenever he starts a new artwork, he paints with childish dreams and curiosity with huge energy. Shin’s painting style uses colorful brush strokes and bold lines, and he completes them with unique texture. His painting is psychologically based on extreme humanism and optimism. This is because he believes that every aspect of human life or human nature has a meaningful moment that’s worth remembering. The movies, history, music, and culture of New York City serve as a guiding force behind his paintings.
