Glen & Gayle Wans Wall Art

Glen & Gayle Wans’ minimalist still-life images of found and natural objects are studies of color, form and texture made with the intention of bringing the beauty of found and natural objects to the forefront, creating a contemplative, peaceful atmosphere through interplay of light and balanced design. Their work is a result of shared ideas. Wans usually bring together the elements that make up each design and together they create the lighting and the composition. The process might take from hours to weeks to reach the perfect balance. And at the end, Glen photographs the result with a large format studio view camera. All work is done in their studio. They print their own work, using their archival pigment ink printer. This machine allows them the total control necessary to produce the best image possible. They make the prints on the finest heavyweight textured watercolor paper available which they feel compliments the organic nature of their work.

A painter starts with a blank canvas, but Glen & Gayle Wans start with an empty studio floor; that’s where their ideas are transformed into reality. Wans is a self-taught set designer, while Glen studied Graphic Design at The Newark School Of Fine And Industrial Art in Newark, New Jersey. Their original collaboration started more than 4 decades years ago as partners creating photographic illustration for advertising, specializing in food work and still life. They have produced several pieces of artwork that are doing so well in the market. They are available for commissions and are willing to take even complex projects.
