Ty Wilson Wall Art

Ty Wilson (Born 1959) is an American artist. His journey to being an artist began in an interesting note. As a young pupil, he presented a drawing of a blue bird done by his older brother as his own to his kindergarten teacher. The teacher was so impressed that she asked him to draw another while the class looked on. Wilson was given a blank sheet of paper. With a blue Crayon in hand, he stared at the blank sheet for quite long and then vowed on two things: first he vowed that he would never lie again; secondly, he vowed that he would learn to draw. All of his life he’s been an artist and humbly consider himself among the lucky few who have made a career of it. Art is his translator; it is the way that he views the world and best communicates what he sees and feels.

Fifteen years after his kindergarten incident, he began his professional art career with Hallmark Greeting Cards. However, in 1984 Hallmark rejected his own design portfolio so he framed the letter of rejection and set his sights on New York. Here, his art was well received and his stylish and elegant illustrations were an immediate success in the fashion and advertising industries. After viewing his work several corporate giants decided to use them; they were used by Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, Macy's, Vanity Fair, Bloomingdales and many others. He has also done posters for many Broadway shows. His romantic, figurative, contemporary depictions of longing and love have touched millions.
